City Clerk
 
 
 

The City Clerk is appointed by the City Commission and is the head of the Department of Administration under the direction of the Commissioner of Administration. The City Clerk shall perform all duties assigned by state law or ordinance, resolution or direction of the City Commission.  
 

The City Clerk is responsible for:

 

General Administration

   • Ordinance, Resolution and Agenda preparation
   • Recording and noticing of all Commission meetings.
   • Contracts, including application of bid procedures and administration of current and previous contracts.
   • Legal Advertising.
   • Being the primary contact person for the city.
   • The release of any and all official notices to the press or other news media.
   • All duties not specifically assigned to one of the other departments.
   • Codification.
 
  Records Retention

   • Gathering, sorting and maintaining of City records.
   • Making City records available to City Departments and the public.
   • Maintenance of records through the State.
 
  Elections

  • Conducts municipal elections.
  • Contracts and coordinates information  with the Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections.
. • Assists candidates in preparing necessary qualifying information.
 

The City Clerk is responsible for conducting municipal elections and is authorized to contract with the Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections  www.votepinellas.com  or any other qualified organization to assist the city in all aspects of the election process.
